GSO Test

Forest School

At Baring School we work with the children in the Forest School area of Northbrook Park. We use the outdoor environment to help children learn in different ways. The children are encouraged to develop independence skills, improve their decision making and raise their self esteem through achievable tasks.

The children from Nursery go each week to Forest School with their class teachers on Wednesdays. Children in Reception -  to Year 6 will be working alongside Mrs. Ness and the class teachers to develop a collection of new skills, pursue a range of the children’s own interests and encourage an appreciation of the natural world. Activities include building shelters for animals and children, minibeast collecting, group games, clay and art work, whittling and photography.

Each class will go to Forest School and the photographs of these sessions will be placed on the school blog.
